As Acting Director for the Energy Directorate at Air Force Civil Engineer Center, Les Martin offers a unique perspective energy management, generation, distribution, and storage across Air Force installations. As Les departs from AFCEC and heads on to his next assignment, he leaves some parting words of wisdom. We thank Les for his leadership and dedication to the Air Force.
In the wake of extreme weather events such as Hurricane Michael and Super Storm Sandy, it is clear that new design standards and innovative building solutions are needed to protect military installations from the impacts of climate change. This requires a new paradigm shift a break from traditional design and construction. This session brings together thought leaders from the federal labs and the local utilities to discuss new technologies to deliver energy resiliency for mission assurance.
This panel brings together subject matter experts from federal and state agencies, academia, and industry trade associations for an interactive discussion around research, development, testing and evaluation (RDT&E). Panelists will discuss how installations can deploy new innovations to promote mission assurance and make installations more resilient.
