This panel brings together subject matter experts from the public- and private-sectors for an interactive discussion around mission assurance through resilient installation and energy microgrids.

As Acting Director for the Energy Directorate at Air Force Civil Engineer Center, Les Martin offers a unique perspective energy management, generation, distribution, and storage across Air Force installations. As Les departs from AFCEC and heads on to his next assignment, he leaves some parting words of wisdom. We thank Les for his leadership and dedication to the Air Force.

In the wake of Hurricane Michael, Congress doubled-down on its commitment to build Tyndall back better and stronger than before. This requires a new paradigm shift a break from traditional design and construction. This session brings together thought leaders from the federal labs and the local utilities to discuss new technologies to deliver energy resiliency for mission assurance.

At the direction of the Secretary of the Air Force, General Melançon is leading a team to program and prepare to execute nearly $3 billion in funding to construct a digitally connected, 21st century Air Force base capable of supporting up to three squadrons of F-35s and one squadron of MQ-9s. This session offers a timely discussion around current mission priorities at Tyndall AFB followed by a Q&A session.

Building the “Base of the Future” requires coordination between different federal agencies to discuss contract vehicles and funding requirements. The sessions offers an in-depth discussion around the financial tools and financing structures that the Air Force uses to ensure mission requirements.

This panel brings together subject matter experts from federal and state agencies, academia, and industry trade associations for an interactive discussion around research, development, testing and evaluation (RDT&E). Panelists will discuss how installations can deploy new innovations to promote mission assurance and make installations more resilient.
